Recover in Luxury & Privacy

Executives typically seem poised, calm, and successful, often appearing to have everything clearly under control in both their professional and personal lives. Great career, beautiful home, a nice car, a husband or wife, and most often with children. They seem to live high and have the best of everything. They have reached such a high level of success in their jobs and are easy to spot in a crowd. While many executives may fit this description, others have deep secrets behind their confident exteriors. They may have an addiction to drugs, alcohol, or gambling, or they may be quietly struggling with mental health issues leading to their addiction.

Dealing with drug addiction and/or mental illness can be difficult to face alone, and since most executives fear the stigma attached to seeking addiction treatment, it is often the reason why help is not sought. Because executives are under constant pressure to perform and continue working – no matter what, they might resist admitting they have a problem or entering an addiction treatment program. Many feel that they do not have the time, or they worry that admitting to having an addiction and/or a mental health issue will cause stigma and change how they are viewed as a professional. That doesn’t have to be the case for our clients.

Unique Treatment at Coastal Detox

At Coastal Detox, we understand that each client has unique needs. As our program has continued to expand, we have recognized a great need for specific programming to be available to individuals in high-caliber social positions and high-stress and/or public careers.

Addiction does not discriminate, and individuals of great influence are at significant risk of falling victim to substance abuse & dependency issues due to the tremendous amount of responsibility and stress an executive’s job may cause. The stress levels experienced by business owners, executives, and the like are major contributing factors to both addiction and alcoholism.

For generations, the combination of personal shame and public stigma has produced tremendous obstacles to addressing the problem of alcoholism and other drug addictions in America, especially with executives and other high-profile clients. Today, the stigma of addiction is seen as a primary barrier to effective addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts at the individual, family, community, and societal levels. Addiction stigma prevents too many people from getting the help they really need and deserve. That’s why Coastal Detox has created the Executive Treatment Program to cater to those individuals who want help while maintaining absolute privacy during a difficult time.

Common Addictions We Treat

Executive Treatment Program: Step One – Detox

Detoxification is generally the first step of an executive detox program. This phase involves the cessation of alcohol and/or drug use, which can produce a range of unpleasant symptoms as the body withdraws from the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Our executive treatment detox program at Coastal Detox uses various methods to ensure the client can withdraw safely and as comfortably as possible. Detox involves medical professionals who specialize in safe and effective detoxification.

Common Withdrawal Symptoms Include:

  • Shaking
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach cramps
  • Irritability
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

Various types of detox medications can help ease the medical detox process and relieve some of the withdrawal symptoms, including (but not limited to):

  • Benzodiazepines
  • Antidepressants
  • Opioid agonists
  • Non-opioid agonists
  • Opioid antagonists
  • Partial agonists and antagonists

Following the detoxification program, our addiction treatment team will facilitate your transition into an inpatient or outpatient addiction treatment program, which can provide comprehensive addiction treatment and support to promote long-term sobriety and improved mental health.

Executive Treatment Program: Step Two – Inpatient vs. Outpatient

It’s important to understand that there are several options for longer-term treatment once the body has been fully detoxed from drugs and/or alcohol.

Inpatient addiction treatment programs require clients to live at the facility best to provide them with 24-hour medical supervision and personalized care. This means that no client will ever have to go through any part of addiction treatment without the round-the-clock medical care and support of the addiction treatment team, as well as that of their peers.

Outpatient addiction treatment programs allow clients to continue living at their homes. This allows for continuing work, school, other activities, and family responsibilities outside facility hours. The level of care in an outpatient addiction treatment program is less intensive than inpatient treatment, however. Fortunately, an executive inpatient treatment program offers both the higher intensity of medical care and the ability of the executive to continue fulfilling some of their professional responsibilities while living at the facility. This means outpatient treatment is only one of your options if you are a high-profile CEO or business executive.

Executive Treatment Program: Amenities

Coastal Detox, located in beautiful Stuart, Florida, offers the Executive Treatment Program with all of the highest standards of clinical and medical care. Some additional features and amenities make your stay with us even more comfortable and less like treatment and more like home.

Executive Treatment Program: Confidentiality

Alcohol and/or addiction programs are a medical treatment that is governed under HIPPA laws, which means your addiction treatment is always treated in the strictest of confidentiality; information on your alcohol and/or addiction treatment cannot be released without the client’s express permission. Executive treatment programs take this further, providing privacy and discretion regarding clients’ personal and professional lives. Executive treatment programs can provide those treated with a secluded atmosphere away from the spotlight, helping to keep careers and personal reputations intact when our clients leave our program.

In the case of outpatient treatment, this discretion can be aided by the person’s ability to maintain a certain degree of regular activity while still seeking treatment for alcohol and/or addiction. This helps some of our clients because the interruption to their daily responsibilities is minimized, and this can help lessen some of the stress of seeking alcohol and/or addiction treatment.

Executive Treatment Program: Cost

At Coastal Detox, because of the amenities and treatment capabilities of our executive treatment program and because the program caters to more affluent individuals, the cost to enter the program is higher than that of traditional programs due to the comfort and seclusion these clients require. Some of the costs of our programs may be covered by health insurance, so it is important that our clients interested in the executive treatment program contact Coastal Detox to assist them in the health insurance approval process.

Executive Treatment Program: Aftercare

According to addiction treatment experts, an inpatient program that offers medical detox and therapy is most likely to have a positive long-term outcome. However, the importance of aftercare coping and support methods should not be underestimated. It will give the client a better chance at lasting sobriety and improved mental health.

The type of treatment program an executive chooses will depend on:

  • The type of his or her business
  • The degree of confidentiality of the therapy

After addiction treatment is completed, individuals can take part in a 12-step program. They can also engage in group or individual therapy. Peer support groups can also help people to avoid drug and/or alcohol use. These groups can help people refrain from other self-destructive behaviors, such as compulsive gambling or even sex addiction.
