Doctor Pleads Guilty for Taking Kickbacks for Prescribing Fentanyl Spray

Living in a world with so much uncertainty, all creatures of this planet must pick and choose their battles wisely. See, where some live to fight- others fight to live. How we prioritize what’s important to us is individualized from person to person. It’s important to know that what’s the bee’s knees for some- is worthless to others. It’s reasons like this that Neopolitan Ice Cream even exists.

With all the dissimilar personalities existing, some end up thriving off of others on their opposite sides of the ice cream tub. While some find pleasure in just love and companionship, or addicts/alcoholics find distorted purpose through substance abuse- there are those that deem finances as their generator of happiness. Whatever the weather, they end up deciding that money is their answer to everything.

For some, this style of living fills that void inside that some search their whole lives to find. It works for them. However, too much of any flavor can be anybody’s downfall. Eventually, those clinging to currency end up succumbing to greed. Greed is the little devil that works hand in hand with addiction itself. The two ideas might as well be related. Greed is what allows doctors to justify prescribing deadly prescription opiates such as fentanyl spray. Greed is an idea that always causes the addict to want more despite the ramifications. With dollar signs in their eyes, how can they see the destruction they’re enabling?

Getting Kicked for Kickbacks

With eyes on the prize, it has been proven time and time again that some people will go to any length in order to acquire more worthless paper.  A Providence, Rhode Island doctor by the name of Jerrold Rosenberg proves just case in point. Doctor Rosenberg plead guilty in a Rhode Island courtroom of receiving forms of compensation for wrongly prescribing fentanyl spray to a plethora of different patients over the course of a few years.

Jerrold was charged essentially with prescribing medications like fentanyl spray to customers in order to receive money in compensation for his wrongful diagnoses. Leading as one of the state’s largest pain management practice owners- as well as in the top for the nation, it’s amazing how long something like this can be done right in front of the noses of the American people.

This is a prime example of how corrupt the medical industry can be in these trying times for alcoholic thinking. With so many people coexisting in the United States, it would be hard to imagine a country where everybody has the same agenda. This is an example of a doctor who is probably responsible for the indirect deaths of hundreds but was able to rationalize every fentanyl spray prescription written out for the financial kickbacks being returned. At what point does human life equal more than a few zeros on a check?

Death Spray

The fentanyl spray in question is a narcotic named Subsys, which is distributed by Insys Therapeutics.  Jerrold Rosenberg is just one criminal case among several that have been brought to light by the United States justice system. This fentanyl spray, created to help cancer patients or individuals suffering through excruciating pain, is a drug that is responsible for countless overdoses over the last few years. It has been wrongly prescribed to a number of patients as part of a pharmaceutical malpractice that many innocent people could have done without.

Subsys is a drug cataloged with a conglomeration of other pharmaceutical chemicals passed out over the last few years. This fentanyl spray is a general in the battalion of opiates that are driving the opioid epidemic across the country. For those who are not that familiar with it, yes there is an epidemic affecting the country in the likes of which nobody has ever seen. Once again, with the concept of “money makes the world go around”, the pharmaceutical companies as well as doctors and business’ all have to benefit off the abusive prescribing of fentanyl spray.

Treatment Spray

Jerrold Rosenberg went so far as admitting to falsifying medical records to various insurance companies so that even government aid based programs like Medicare would fund the unnecessary fentanyl spray being passed out like hot cakes. It seems like for Doctor Rosenberg there were no limitations to malpractice and negligence in regards to the matter. Such was also the case for a slew of other MD’s across the country- as well as 5 of the former top CEOs of Insys Therapeutics who are under review for similar felony charges.

Even with this pyramid of greedy chemical tycoons dissolving there is still much to do to reverse the addiction damages manifested from the distribution of the fentanyl spray. In a world full of addicts with the odds against them, a few of the things needed to combat the epidemic sweeping the nation include:

It’s amazing how much would change with more addiction treatment services made available. The reality of the matter is that the country is slowly discovering that the “War on Drugs” is a figment of imagination created by politicians to appease the people. The drugs will never stop entering the country regardless of whatever wall is built, law is passed, or arrests or made. When there is a supply there is always a demand.
