But, we are here to help!

About MHNet and Its Benefits for Substance Treatment Services

Also known as the Mental Health Network, MHNet is a health insurance provider that has been designed specifically for individuals who are seeking treatment for their substance abuse disorders. By paying an annual fee for their services, MHNet is able to help cover the partial or entire cost of policyholders’ treatments and therapies.

When looking for financial help for their substance abuse treatment, MHNet can provide extensive coverage. Services will vary from plan to plan, but MHNet is a great option when considering insurance policies for addiction treatment. It is important to understand the difference between regular health benefits and mental health benefits when choosing a plan with MHNet.

Getting information on how your substance abuse treatment can be covered by MHNet can seem like an overwhelming task. Fortunately, our Coastal Detox professionals have helped countless potential patients realize they are covered by their MHNet policy. All that is required is calling one of our expertly trained addiction specialists, and they will research your payment options for you!

Is In-Network Necessary?

Choosing an in-network provider versus an out-of-network provider can increase your chance of attending rehabilitation programs for the amount of time necessary the patient requires to fully recovery from the substance addiction.

There are many financial situations where in-network companies associated with Coastal Detox will be necessary to help fund the treatment.  But, because we are an in-network company, we can review your plan and quote a treatment payment amount based on your MHNet insurance coverage. If you are required to pay a deductible, MHNet may help to cut the cost for you.

Other Benefits

Not only is an MHNet policy beneficial to your stay in our treatment center, but it is also beneficial to your overall health and your life beyond rehab. MHNet plans are there to benefit your health and your wallet at the same time.

MHNet also offers resources on their website for their policyholders to gain more information health and wellness through their lifestyle video program “It Only Takes a Minute.” In these videos, they cover a range of topics such as “Improving Self-Esteem” and “Working Out Together.” These videos are conducted by MHNet to encourage their members to reach out to a healthy outlet when they might not be as content with their life as they could be.

Reviewing Your Policy

At Coastal Detox, an independent review of your MHNet coverage will determine:

  • Which alcohol and drug rehabs you are eligible for
  • How long you can attend the program (30, 60, 90 days, etc.)
  • Which level of care will be covered

By allowing us to review what expenses your MHNet plan will cover at our facility, our team at Coastal Detox is able to identify all the factors to help you determine whether treatment is going to be affordable or not. This will help you understand how much you can expect to pay out of pocket for treatments.

Coverage for Treatment

In order to be qualified for coverage for the treatment, MHNet-authorized physicians must evaluate the health of the individual that believes they are in need of substance abuse treatment. They will then report back to MHNet their results and from there, the individual will be pre-authorized for treatment if the physician deems it necessary to their health.  When it comes to insurance coverage, different factors can play into an individual’s amount they are required to pay. Some of these factors can include the state or country, the type of detox or treatment program, the length of stay and much more.

Coverage for Detox

Not everyone’s detox services will be 100% covered by their MHNet plan. Inpatient detox is not covered by MHNet, but a portion of a patient’s outpatient medical detox can be covered by certain plans with MHNet.

Coverage for Mental Health

There is a good chance that when someone is diagnosed with a substance abuse disorder they are also dual-diagnosed with a mental health disorder, as well. MHNet takes that into consideration with developing their coverage plans because they understand individuals, more often than not, must be treated for both. In most cases, MHNet covers these treatments as essential health benefits or even medically necessary treatments.

Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Coverage

There are two different types of addiction treatment. The most notable is inpatient treatment where the patient is required to stay at the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the recovery process. The other is outpatient treatment where an individual is still immersed in daily life, like attending school or work, while attending treatments. Whether a potential patient is admitted into an inpatient or outpatient treatment program will depend on his or her medical and mental status.

After meeting your deductible, MHNet will cover the remaining cost towards your treatments within the center. Deductibles can vary but most are around $2,500 per year for MHNet
