Heroin Detox Center in Florida For People With Insurance

If you or a friend or family member is living in the harmful cycle of heroin addiction, you may be attempting to seek out professional care. Fortunately, it is easier now than ever before to secure treatment for addiction. Most insurance plans will cover detoxification and rehabilitation, although there may be a few limitations set in place that can complicate things. The first step you should take is to contact your insurance provider directly to discover what exactly is covered. Next, you can rest assured knowing that heroin detox is attainable in Florida. In fact, rehabilitation programs often integrate as part of the treatment process.

Choosing a rehab with on site medical detox is a great way to reduce your stress and avoid any transition phase between different facilities. It also gives you the chance to get to know the staff better and develop a support system that is comprised of other individuals also going through the recovery process. Most insurance will cover detox because it demonstrates a medical need for the treatment of withdrawal symptoms. These can vary greatly from person to person, but the following are most apparent among heroin addicts:

  • Excessive sleepiness
  • Aches and pains
  • Confusion
  • Paranoia
  • Mood swings or agression
  • Digestive complications
  • Uneven gait
  • Depression

How Does Detox Work?

Withdrawal symptoms are generally more severe among long term heroin users. When symptoms are very intense, medication may be prescribed to ease the discomfort. Typically, doctors rely on replacement drugs such as methadone on a case by case basis. However, not all insurance will cover the use of such prescriptions. This is why it is critical to contact your provider so you can be prepared ahead of time.

Most doctors prefer to rely on the use of natural remedies to address withdrawal symptoms. Over the counter medications such as pain relievers and anti nausea products may also be used. Typically, you can expect a calm and peaceful environment in a heroin detox. This helps to reduce anxiety, mood swings and also encourages patients to focus on their recovery. In addition to this, warm baths, massage and meditation may also be available for patients. Detox aims to allows your body to release built up toxins in a safe and effective way. It is important to keep in mind that you may not be able to avoid the discomfort of withdrawal entirely as a result, but your symptoms will be much less severe than attempting to do it on your own. In addition to this, detoxing in a facility eliminates the risk for relapse which is most prevalent during this stage in the recovery process.

Successful detoxification breaks the body’s physical dependence to heroin and other substances. As a result, you will gain mental clarity and reduced cravings. The next step is treatment in a rehabilitation program.

Is Treatment Covered?

Treatment is typically covered by insurance because addiction is considered to be a chronic disease. Like any other disease, it needs professional intervention in order to overcome it effectively. Therefore, you can get coverage for rehabilitation services. However, not all insurance will cover inpatient care. Also known as residential rehab, inpatient treatment is the most intensive method available. It requires patients to live on site for a brief period of time while they receive services. Some insurance plans may only cover outpatient treatment, which is a less intensive option. It does not require relocation and instead operates on a set schedule after which patients return home. However, it is not ideal for everyone. Outpatient treatment is only recommended for individuals with mild to moderate addictions, strong support system in place and a healthy home environment. Since outpatient rehabilitation does not offer a change of environment, it cannot effectively reduce triggers in your daily life that may lead to relapse. However, it can equip you with tools to combat complications productively.

Generally, insurance will cover inpatient treatment if an individual has a long standing history of addiction or has not experienced success in an outpatient program. However, you will need to speak with your insurance provider directly or get in touch with our team for help determining what services you are eligible for.

Once you complete a treatment plan, aftercare services may also be available to you. These typically operate on an outpatient basis. They may include the same therapies you participated in during treatment but on a less frequent basis. Over time, aftercare services will gradually decrease as you become more confident in your own capabilities to maintain recovery. Many people also choose to supplement their services with participation in a community based group such as Narcotics Anonymous and SMART Recovery. Both of these options offer easy to find locations nationwide and meetings at convenient times. They typically host meetings in public places such as churches and schools. Community based programs are an excellent way to gain support from other individuals also in recovery from addiction and make new sober friends. Many people find that they stay more accountable for their recovery when they actively attend meetings as well. They are optional, but worth trying at least once for their many benefits. Attending a meeting is a great way to cope with any lingering cravings or triggers once you have completed treatment as well.

Recovering from a heroin addiction is not a straight and narrow path. It is full of ups and downs, but it gets easier over time. • Before coming to coastal I was hopeless, helpless, and my family wanted nothing to do with me. It wasn’t the first detox I’d ever been to, but it was the only one who showed me so much love and compassion. They gave me hope. It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude I have for this facility. The employees were my family when I had none. The staff went out of their way to make sure not only were my physical needs taken care of, but my emotional needs as well. From the first phone call prior to admission, to helping me set up continuing care, they never missed a beat. Even going as far as to help me with my legal issues via Zoom court. This isn’t just a detox, they are the family I never had. All of the techs, especially Karen, are phenomenal. They will take the time to listen to you, laugh, and cry(if needed) with you. If you are reading this and you or your loved one is suffering like I was, go to Coastal Detox. The level of care is more than I could ever put into a review. It wasn’t the first detox I’d been to, but it has been my last; I owe them everything I have today, including my life.

  • Had a really good experience at Coastal. The staff really went above and beyond in helping me get in and gave me the respect l, space and care I needed after I first got there. As I started to fell better they encouraged me to take part in groups which helped get me out of my head and bring positivity and health to my thinking. They had a great massage therapist, who came daily and it was evident the nursing staff genuinely cared. Got to know some of the staff as well and I’m grateful for the cooks Joe and Chris. Those guys literally made us sirloins and pork chops for dinner. Also I gotta thank Chris and Chris for helping me get in and setting me up with a transition plan. Real grateful for that help, I’m not sure if it’s management intention to hire guys named Chris but they got a good thing going there. Overall, I’m clean and sober today and walking it out. Coastal gave me a base that set me up for the success that I’m walking in today

  • My family is very thankful for Coastal Detox. They have went above and beyond for my son a few times. Unfortunately he has needed their help more than once and they have ever turned their back on him, even when he was at his worst. Jeannie and Chris have been amazing and kept me informed through the entire process. They truly care about the addict and want to help them especially when it would be easy to give up on them. I had many detox facilities be rude and uncaring to me when I was searching for help for my son, but Coastal never did that to us. I don't know the names of all the team members that have helped my son but I know their are many and y'all are angels!! One day we will be able to pay it forward and help someone as you have helped us. Thank you for all you do!!

  • Can not say enough nice things about Coastal Detox & staff. Family member was there, told me five stars for the facility & all whom she interacted with. Said the facilities, ambience..., cleanliness, grounds, food, (think their chef is five stars), were all top shelf. All I interacted with personally & on the phone were patient, professional, responsive & caring. Kudos to so many: Jeannie Jones, Clinical Director whom I spent the most face to face time with: great oversight, patience & follow thru. Raquel Barker, Therapist was so understanding & on spot with her assessments/care. Kris Garrigus Admissions Director, another Coastal professional whom I cannot say enough nice things about, always so patient & responsive to my probably too frequent inquires. Not to be forgotten is Judy Tucker, Director of Operations she too so patiently "put up with me"
    I highly recommend Coastal Detox
