You’ve Drug Tested Them At Home, Now You Need To Find A Detox Treatment Center in Florida Immediately

When a person is using drugs or alcohol, they often think that they can keep their behavior a secret. Yet, you’re keenly aware of everything that happens in your family’s life, and there is no way that they could hide something as big as this. Over the past few weeks or months, you’ve likely noticed the signs of a growing substance dependency. Your loved one may have started acting erratically or even began to lie or steal from their family in an effort to maintain their addiction.

While it took a positive drug test to bring the issue to light, the good news is that you can now begin the process of moving forward with giving your loved one the help they need to recover. Often, there is a short window of time when a person is receptive to seeking help, and this usually begins shortly after their addiction has become obvious to others. Whether you caught your teenager using an illegal drug or found out that your spouse has been misusing their pain pills, your loved one depends upon you to approach this situation with compassion and honesty. You can use these strategies to help them get into a detox center in Florida right away.

How to Choose the Right Detox Program

Detox programs help people to make it through the first few days of ending their drug or alcohol habit. During this time period, many people struggle with painful withdrawal symptoms that make it hard for them to avoid breaking down. In some instances, your loved one may need detox to avoid life-threatening symptoms such as seizures and hallucinations that place their health in jeopardy. When you call the treatment center, let the counselors know if your loved one has ever experienced the following issues that signal that they need a supervised recovery.

• Past relapse
• Prolonged history of drug or alcohol abuse
• A current health diagnosis such as heart disease or epilepsy
• Mental health issues such as depression
• Failed attempts to stop using on their own

You must keep in mind that you may not know the full extent of your loved one’s addiction. After the positive drug test, encourage them to tell you as much as they can about how long and how much they have been using drugs or alcohol. Let them know that you are not angry but just concerned about how to help them find the right type of treatment program.

Depending upon the drug test that you gave your loved one, you may have an idea of which drugs they are addicted to. However, many at-home tests do not cover all of the different types of drugs. For example, a test designed for only marijuana will not detect street drugs such as heroin or MDA. A quality detox program will test for all substances when your loved one is admitted so that they receive the right treatment program to fit their specific needs.

How to Get Your Loved One Into a Florida Treatment Center Fast

Time is of the essence when your loved one needs help. After all, drug and alcohol addictions leave your loved one at risk for long-term health effects from an overdose, and their behavior affects everyone in the household. Fortunately, detox treatment centers in Florida are ready to enroll your loved one in a program right away so that they have the best prospects for a successful recovery. To get your loved one into a treatment center quickly, use these steps to get the process started.

Your first step is to reach out to our treatment center, and let the staff know about what happened. When you call, make sure to have details on hand that you can provide such as when they tested positive for drugs and which substances were revealed on your at-home screening. You may also reveal your relationship to your loved one since this helps them to determine the proper strategies for admissions. For instance, a minor child may need your permission to enter the program, whereas an adult can enroll in the treatment independently.

Drug rehabs also accept health insurance to help make treatment more affordable. If your loved one currently has health insurance, then have the information available to provide to the intake staff such as the name of the insurance company and your loved one’s policy number. If they do not have insurance, then don’t let this be a factor that delays their care. Drug detox centers are able to work with you to figure out a financial arrangement that ensures cost is not a barrier to ending an addiction.

How to Support Your Loved One’s Recovery

Once you get your loved one into a treatment program, your work is still not over. Over the next few months, they will need your help to stay strong in the face of challenges that pose a risk to their recovery. You can begin supporting your loved one as they go through the process of ending their addiction by letting them know that you will be there every step of the way. Although it is upsetting to see a positive drug test in your home, you must let go of any negative emotions that do nothing to help the situation. If this is hard, then don’t worry. You can work through many of your relationship issues in family counseling and group therapy sessions during times when loved ones are encouraged to participate.

You and your loved one are not alone. Today, many households have at least one member of the family that struggles with addiction, and no one is to blame for when someone struggles with drugs or alcohol. By standing by your loved one’s side, you can help them conquer the issues that drive their addiction so that you can all benefit from a strong and happy relationship.

Now that the truth is out, your loved one needs prompt treatment that helps them end their addiction. Reach out to one of our counselors at 877-978-3125 to speed up the process of getting them into our treatment program.

  • Before coming to coastal I was hopeless, helpless, and my family wanted nothing to do with me. It wasn’t the first detox I’d ever been to, but it was the only one who showed me so much love and compassion. They gave me hope. It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude I have for this facility. The employees were my family when I had none. The staff went out of their way to make sure not only were my physical needs taken care of, but my emotional needs as well. From the first phone call prior to admission, to helping me set up continuing care, they never missed a beat. Even going as far as to help me with my legal issues via Zoom court. This isn’t just a detox, they are the family I never had. All of the techs, especially Karen, are phenomenal. They will take the time to listen to you, laugh, and cry(if needed) with you. If you are reading this and you or your loved one is suffering like I was, go to Coastal Detox. The level of care is more than I could ever put into a review. It wasn’t the first detox I’d been to, but it has been my last; I owe them everything I have today, including my life.

  • Had a really good experience at Coastal. The staff really went above and beyond in helping me get in and gave me the respect l, space and care I needed after I first got there. As I started to fell better they encouraged me to take part in groups which helped get me out of my head and bring positivity and health to my thinking. They had a great massage therapist, who came daily and it was evident the nursing staff genuinely cared. Got to know some of the staff as well and I’m grateful for the cooks Joe and Chris. Those guys literally made us sirloins and pork chops for dinner. Also I gotta thank Chris and Chris for helping me get in and setting me up with a transition plan. Real grateful for that help, I’m not sure if it’s management intention to hire guys named Chris but they got a good thing going there. Overall, I’m clean and sober today and walking it out. Coastal gave me a base that set me up for the success that I’m walking in today

  • My family is very thankful for Coastal Detox. They have went above and beyond for my son a few times. Unfortunately he has needed their help more than once and they have ever turned their back on him, even when he was at his worst. Jeannie and Chris have been amazing and kept me informed through the entire process. They truly care about the addict and want to help them especially when it would be easy to give up on them. I had many detox facilities be rude and uncaring to me when I was searching for help for my son, but Coastal never did that to us. I don't know the names of all the team members that have helped my son but I know their are many and y'all are angels!! One day we will be able to pay it forward and help someone as you have helped us. Thank you for all you do!!

  • Can not say enough nice things about Coastal Detox & staff. Family member was there, told me five stars for the facility & all whom she interacted with. Said the facilities, ambience..., cleanliness, grounds, food, (think their chef is five stars), were all top shelf. All I interacted with personally & on the phone were patient, professional, responsive & caring. Kudos to so many: Jeannie Jones, Clinical Director whom I spent the most face to face time with: great oversight, patience & follow thru. Raquel Barker, Therapist was so understanding & on spot with her assessments/care. Kris Garrigus Admissions Director, another Coastal professional whom I cannot say enough nice things about, always so patient & responsive to my probably too frequent inquires. Not to be forgotten is Judy Tucker, Director of Operations she too so patiently "put up with me"
    I highly recommend Coastal Detox
